Seachem ParaGuard is a highly effective treatment for controlling parasites and external infections in fish. Unlike traditional formalin-based medications, ParaGuard is safe for fish and filters as it is made of a unique aldehyde-based formula, which contains no formaldehyde or methanol. This does not alter the pH of the aquarium, making it a safer choice for the aquatic environment. Seachem ParaGuard is a specialized treatment that is especially useful in hospitals and receiving tanks for new fish or when introducing new fish to a community tank.

ParaGuard features a proprietary blend of aldehydes, malachite green, and fish-protective polymers that work together to target and eradicate a variety of ectoparasites, including ich (Ichthyophthirius), as well as external fungal, bacterial, and viral lesions like fin rot. ParaGuard's gentle yet effective formula ensures that it tackles common issues in new fish receiving tanks or new tanks without compromising the health of fish or the efficiency of the filter.

• In the event of a spill, dilute the product with water and flush it down the drain, following local regulations for waste disposal.
• If the product comes into contact with the skin, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water.
• If ingested, provide several glasses of water to dilute the substance and seek medical advice if a large amount is swallowed.
• A sulfur odor is normal due to the product’s formulation and should not be a cause for concern.
• For high chloramine concentrations, a double dose can be used safely. In emergencies involving nitrite toxicity, up to five times the normal dose may be applied.

• Add 5 mL (1 capful) of ParaGuard for every 40 liters (10 US gallons) of water.
