Seachem Laboratories Acid Buffer is a non-phosphate product that lowers the pH in your aquarium. It changes alkalinity (KH) into usable CO2. Acid Buffer is one of the best aquarium water treatments for planted tanks or tanks with very hard water. This helps keep a healthy and stable environment for your fish and plants. Other buffers with phosphates cause algae or cloudy water. However, acid buffers do not do that. - To lower pH, use 1/4 teaspoon (2g) of Acid Buffer for every 80 liters (20 US gallons) of aquarium water.
- Add this daily until the pH reaches the level you want.
- Each dose will lower alkalinity by about 0.2 meq/L (0.6 dKH).
- If your water is very hard, you might need to use more.
- For precise dosing, it is recommended to use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.
