safety and precautions

  • A drip loop must be used with all electrical aquarium devices.
  • A drip loop is a self-made part of the cord hanging below the receptacle
  • A GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) should be used in the branch circuit supplying all power to water pumps and electrical aquarium equipment. If you do not have a GFCI, we strongly recommend having a qualified electrician install one before operating any aquarium component.
  • Do not plug it into an extension cord or power strip.
  • Use this product for its intended purpose only.
  • Never yank or pull the cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Do not operate if the plug or wire is damaged.
  • Verify that the hands are dry before disconnecting the power.
  • To reduce the risk of electrocution, keep all connections dry.
  • For indoor use only.
  • If any of the electrical components get wet, unplug immediately.
  • Do not use soaps or detergents when cleaning the exterior surface of this device.
  • Make sure the device is completely dry before connecting.
  • Keep this product away from children.

Note: If you wish to connect the MaxFlow Power Head to an under-gravel filter or a CAF Sponge Filter, remove the Inlet Strainer (Part #6) and install the included Inlet Adapter (Part #8). Then insert the uplift tube from the under-gravel or sponge filter into the Inlet Adapter (PH8/16/22 models only).

Direction

  • Position the power head in the desired location within the aquarium, ensuring full submersion.
  • For under-gravel filtration, attach the power head to the uplift tube securely.
  • Connect the air hose and adjust the regulator to achieve the desired aeration.
  • Plug the power head into a suitable power source, ensuring a drip loop is formed to prevent water from reaching the outlet.
